Recently, I came across a quote, and I connected with it immediately.
The wisdom in it is unambiguous.
The softest pillow is a clear conscience– Anonymous
It is about sleeping without worries.
It’s also more than sleeping without worries.
It is about living a lifestyle that is grounded in honor.
A lifestyle that treats others with dignity and honor.
Adapting from the words of Josiah Gilbert Holland;
“Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office can not buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty, and in private thinking”
These are people with unseared conscience.
Whose conscience remain the barometer of their thoughts and actions.
They are the ones who don’t look over their shoulders.
They are the ones who can sleep well at night.
But this isn’t about sleep alone.
It is about making an impact.
Immigrants are hard workers.
But hard work without a clear conscience leads to frustration.
Be a person of honor.
Treat others as you would have them treat you.
Love all men.
Do all the good you can.
Speak and pursue all truth.
